I will always remember you.
You are in my heart, be our time together a few sweet breaths vs. months to years.
You have shown over and over again that miracles do happen.
You give me hope, even in the darkest of times.
You (and your parents and nurses) are my heroes. I learn about dedication, strength, perseverance, and love from you everyday.
You keep me on my toes, for the days we spend together are always full of surprises. You have made me laugh and curse and cry and feel true joy more times than I could ever count!
You are my teachers--each of you has taught me things I need to know to take better care of those who are born after you. Through this you help each other.
You humble me by proving me wrong every single day. My time with you has made me a more compassionate and loving doctor and neonatologist.
You are always in my heart and I feel blessed to be connected with you. I will remember you always.
This is me with one of the preemies I took care of when I was in my fellowship training. I can't get over how young we both were!
